Mustardy Beef from Jamie Oliver Slow Cooker Version

This is my slow cooker version of Jamie Oliver’s Meltin’ Mustardy Beef stew.
Which was in his Channel 4 programme this week.
And also from his 5 Ingredients Quick and Easy Food cook book.
This is the kind of recipe I love! It works well in a slow cooker. Makes a no-fuss delicious beef casserole. And uses just 5 ingredients!

Mustardy Beef from Jamie Oliver 5 Ingredients Quick and Easy Food - Slow Cooker Version

This slow cooker beef stew recipe is based on a Jamie Oliver recipe. You can view the original recipe online at: Meltin’ mustardy beef.

I followed his recipe almost exactly – with the same ingredients (except the shin bone). And followed the same method, except that I browned the beef, onions and carrots in a large frying pan. And then put everything into the slow cooker pot.

Cook on HIGH for 4-6 hours (or LOW for 8-10 hours). Until the meat is very tender.

If you prefer a thicker gravy, you could pour the sauce into a saucepan once the stew has finished cooking. And bring it to boil until it is reduced to your liking.
